Tiger Triumph-24: On India’s eastern seaboard,2 navies of India & USA had initiated a bilateral Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) exercise titled Tiger Triumph-24., which will initiate on March 18, 2024, next 6 days and end on March 26, 2024. This mission was initiated in the wake of the 2004 tsunami when 2 navies had started together to practice the humanism skills of their navies where desalination plants, rapid action medical teams (RAMT), floating hospitals, and foreign language and cultural experts will initiate the talk over it.

On December 26, 2004, at 07:58:53 local time (UTC+7), a devastating earthquake, known as the Sumatra–Andaman earthquake, measuring 9.1–9.3 on the Richter scale, devasted the seabed off the west coast of northern Sumatra, Indonesia. This undersea megathrust earthquake occurs due to a rupture along the fault between the Burma Plate and the Indian Plate. The quake’s epicentre was approximately 160 km (100 mi) off the western coast of northern Sumatra, just north of Simeulue island, at a depth of 30 km (19 mi) below sea level. The earthquake later triggered a series of colossal tsunami waves, some reaching heights of up to 30 meters (100 ft). Communities in 14 countries, including Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India, Thailand, and the Maldives, were victims of catastrophe with an estimated 227,898 lives lost, making it one of the deadliest natural disasters in modern history.
